📌 Final Conclusion Therefore, the claim that the Ḥadīth, ❝Do not make 3 Rakʿahs of Witr similar to Maghrib,❞ negates the permissibility of 3 Rakʿahs Witr is incorrect. Muḥaddithīn have explained that the correct explanation of this Ḥadīth merely means that Witr includes Qunūt and an even number of Tahajjud Ṣalāh should be combined with it, thus making it different from Maghrib. Furthermore, there are numerous Aḥadīth from the Prophet ﷺ, Ṣaḥābah, and the Salaf that Witr is like Maghrib, explicitly mentioning it to be prayed as 3 Rakʿahs with 1 Salām. Hence, the Ḥanafī Madhab has authentic evidences for its stance and this should be respected. At the same time, it must be acknowledged that valid differences of opinion exist among the Madhāhib, and each is based on its respective evidences. I love my command line and often do things like top -o cpu or ps aux | grep [f]oo ... I just found witr, which provides a crazy amount of information. Well worth checking out on OSX: github.com/pranshuparmar/wit…
